Set the exchange rate for transactions

You can set the default exchange rate you want to use for all transactions. You can select as the default rate either the Intacct daily rate or the 1 day prior rate. If you do not select an exchange rate, Intacct uses the Intacct daily rate as the default.

The Intacct exchange rates are as follows:

  • Intacct daily rate: Select the Intacct daily rate to default all transactions to the exchange rate from the previous day that Sage Intacct retrieves from Oanda.
  • 1 day prior: Select to default all transactions to the exchange rate from one day before the Intacct daily rate, as retrieved from Oanda.

    This exchange rate is useful for recording transactions taking place between UTC +6 through +14, or UTC -9 through -12.

Ensure you have enabled support for multiple transaction currencies in your company before you select the default exchange rate.

  1. Go to Company > Admin.
  2. Select Subscriptions, and scroll down to General Ledger.
  3. Next to General Ledger, select Configure.

    The Configure General Ledger page is shown.

  4. For the Intacct rate option, select one of the following:
    • Intacct daily rate
    • 1 day prior
  5. Save your changes.
