Include projects in work in progress (WIP) schedules
By default, no projects are included in WIP schedules. You use the Project Settings for WIP Schedules page to include (or subsequently exclude) projects in WIP schedules.
The projects shown on the Project Settings for WIP Schedules page depend on the level you are at:
- At the top level, the page shows all projects.
- At the entity level, the page shows projects for the entity, and top level projects that are within the entity.

- Go to Projects > All > WIP project settings.
- If this is the first time you're using the Project Settings for WIP Schedules page, select WIP schedule settings from the list view selector above the table.
- Select projects to include in WIP schedules.
You can select up to 100 projects at a time.
To have the list display the project hierarchy, select Display hierarchy.
You can add project-related columns to the grid to make it easier to filter the list and find projects. Learn how to change the list display, including adding and removing columns.
- Select the Include button, and choose how to include the selected projects in WIP schedules:
- Include on its own line: A project that's included on its own line (which is called a WIP schedule project) shows totals for itself plus any subprojects that are included as part of it. If no subprojects are included as part of it, it shows data only for itself.
Root projects can only be included as WIP schedule projects; they cannot be included as part of other projects.
Projects from any level of a project hierarchy can be WIP schedule projects.
- Include as part of root project: If a root project is included in WIP schedules, you can set some or all of its subprojects to be included as part of it.
When including projects in this way, you can select subprojects from multiple project hierarchies. They'll automatically be included as part of their respective root projects.
- Include as part of other project: If a WIP schedule project is at or below the second level of the project hierarchy, you can set some or all of its subprojects to be included as part of it.
When including projects in this way, all the selected projects must be in the same project hierarchy.
- Exclude: If you do not want to include a project in WIP schedules, you can exclude it.
Projects are excluded from WIP schedules by default.
- Include on its own line: A project that's included on its own line (which is called a WIP schedule project) shows totals for itself plus any subprojects that are included as part of it. If no subprojects are included as part of it, it shows data only for itself.
