Edit a journal rule—Fixed Assets Management

Journal rules determine which journals the Fixed Assets Management application can post to and how. Each rule contains details about the journal, convention, useful life units, and more. Journal rules are used to automatically populate valid information for depreciation rules, saving you time.

Before you begin

Verify that the journal rule is not ued by a depreciation rule. If it is, and depreciation has not started, you might be able to edit the depreciation rule on the classifications or assets to temporarily remove the journal rule association.

Edit a journal rule

1. Go to Fixed Assets Management > Setup > Configuration.
2. Select Edit.
3. In the Journal rules section, find the rule that you want to edit.
4. Select any field in the row to begin editing.

   • Journal rule ID is not editable.

   • The Journal field populates the Book ID field.

5. Select Save.
