Enable restriction release
Enabling the restriction release feature allows access to the Generate restriction release menu. Until it’s enabled, you will not see the Generate release menu.
- Go to General Ledger > Setup > Configuration.
- Scroll to the Advanced GL section and place a checkmark beside Enable nonprofit restriction release. You’ll only see this if your company was set up with a Nonprofit QuickStart.
- Save your settings.
Grant permissions
Grant permission for each user you want to be able to generate the release. On the General Ledger Permissions page, find Restriction Release, and select the following:
- List
- View
- Generate
You can also select the Delete checkbox. For larger companies, the best practice is to assign the Delete permission to someone else in the organization—such as the controller—to maintain segregation of duties.
