Slide in to an instance

From the Instance list, you slide in to an instance to log in as an external user. Then, you can complete the activities that you have permissions for.

Prerequisites to slide in to an instance

To slide in to an instance, you need the following:

  • To be assigned to the instance.
  • Access to the Instance list.

These permissions and assignments must be set by your console admin. Go to Assign users to an instance for more information.

After you slide in to an instance, the administrator needs to set your permissions for that instance. Effective permissions are different depending on your console type. Learn more about permissions in each console:

  • Accountant console permissions
  • Partner console permissions
  • Management console permissions

If you do not see the activities from your assigned permissions, close the page and slide in to the instance again. If the activities still do not appear, confirm with your admin that you are assigned the correct permissions.

The following reports have slide in functionality disabled when you restrict subledger transactions at the top levelGeneral Ledger, Trial balance, Budget, AP supplier invoices Analysis, and AR sales invoice Analysis.

Slide in to an instance

If you are not assigned to a particular instance, then it does not appear in your Instance list.

  1. Go to My instances > All > Instances > My instances.

  2. Find the instance and select Switch to <company name>.

    Intacct launches the instance in a new browser tab.

    If you receive an error message indicating that you cannot access the selected instance, contact your Intacct administrator.

    Your console is still open in its original browser tab. You can return to the console anytime by selecting the tab.
