General Ledger multi-entity guidelines
Some Sage Intacct applications work differently in a multi-entity shared company. It can be helpful to prepare for these differences to ensure you work efficiently in the application.
Entity-private accounts
You can restrict the use of a General Ledger account to only one entity. To do so, create an entity level GL account. This can also be useful for complying with statutory reporting.
Entity-private account labels
General Ledger accounts in multi-entity shared companies can use entity-private account labels.
For example, an account whose default label is "Inactive Account" can be set to appear as "Compte Inactif" for the French entity.
- Go to General Ledger > Setup > More > Account title by entity.
- Select Create.
- Enter the Entity ID.
- Select the Account Number with the label that you want to change.
- In the Account label for entity field, enter the entity-specific label.
- Select Save.
- Go to General Ledger > Setup > More > Account title by entity.
- Select Add.
- Enter the Entity ID.
- Select the Account Number with the label that you want to change.
- In the Account label for entity field, enter the entity-specific label.
- Select Save.
The label appears in the entity using the entity-specific label that you gave it.
Approvals
Entity level journal entries can only be approved at the entity level.
