Configure project estimates

You can configure project estimates to:

  • Use the project, task, and cost type (for Construction subscriptions only) dimensions to categorize your project's actual and estimated costs at detailed levels.
  • Post project estimates to General Ledger (GL) budgets.
  • Determine a numbering convention that creates unique estimate IDs automatically.
You can have several estimates for the same project. For example, when you define the project scope, you can use a different estimate for each phase of the project. Use project-specific estimate IDs to group estimates by project.

Configure project estimates

  1. Optionally, set up estimate types.
  2. Enable GL budgets that allow posting of project estimates.
  3. To configure an existing project estimate, go to:
    • Projects > All > Projects, edit the project, then select the Estimate tab.
    • Projects > All > Project Estimates and edit the estimate that you want to configure.

  4. Next to the desired project, select More > Edit.
