Add a report to a dashboard—CRW
A custom report can be added to a dashboard after it has been memorized, the same as any other report.
Do not add large reports to a dashboard that's used as a start page, particularly if it's the start page for multiple people. Large reports can slow down a dashboard, especially if the dashboard is used by multiple people at the same time.
For example, suppose you have a dashboard that's the start page for 10 people. At the start of their workday, they all view the same dashboard at the same time. If that dashboard includes a large report, each of those 10 people could find that the dashboard is slow.

Create a custom report
If you did not already done so, create a custom report. For more information, see the custom report writer.
Memorize a custom report
You first memorize a custom report, then you can add it to a dashboard.
- Go to Reports > All > Advanced > Custom reports.
- Find the report you want to memorize and select Run.
- When the report appears, select Memorize in the upper right. You might also be prompted for runtime information.
- Name the report and optionally enter a unique description for future reference. It does not have to be the same name as the saved report.
- Select the Public check box to make the report public, or leave the option blank to keep it private.
Reports that are not Public can only be accessed by the report owner and admin users with the right permissions. Making a report Public enables any user with the right permissions to see and edit the report. - Select OK.
Add the report as a dashboard component
When adding the dashboard component, select Report as the Component Type and then select your memorized report. Learn about adding, editing, and deleting dashboard components.
If the dashboard filter As of date is enabled, the custom report runs for the date specified in the dashboard filter.
For custom reports, the most common reason is that the component doesn’t include the dimension that is filtered. The field used as a filter in the dashboard also needs to be in the report.
For example, suppose the dashboard has a filter set for the Department dimension. For the dashboard to filter for this value, the custom report must have a value in the Department ID.
