Manage dimension views

A dimension view is a group of dimension records. A view shows the results for the group to highlight analysis for that data in your report. You can create multiple views for a user-defined dimension, and change views as needed.

This topic shows you create additional views and change the view presented for the dimension.

Create additional views for a user-defined dimension

You can easily assign a new view to a user-defined dimension.

  1. Go to User-defined dimensions (application) > All.
  2. Under Components, select the dimension name.
  3. In the upper left corner of the top menu bar, select New view.
  4. Enter a unique View name and Display label in the respective fields.
  5. Next to View is, select Public - for use in reports to make the dimension publicly available.
  6. Scroll down and select the Columns to be included in the view, then select the fields to Sort and group.
  7. Optionally, set the View filters conditions for records in the view.
  8. Select Save.

After you save the view, the dimension appears as a report structure in General Ledger > All > Financial report structures > Dimensions structures.

Change a dimension view name

You can modify a view name for a dimension at any time.

  1. Go to User-defined dimensions (application) > All.
  2. Under Components, select the dimension name.
  3. Find the view name that you want to modify, and select Edit view.
  4. Enter the new name for the view in the text field and select Save.
  5. Select Save.
