Field descriptions: Supplies warehouse transfer

The following table describes the fields on the Supplies workbench, Warehouse transfers page.

Warehouse transfer for supplies field descriptions
Field	Description
Description	Enter a description to provide details or instructions for the transfer.
Reference number	Enter a reference to another document or any text as needed.
Transfer type	Select Immediate or In transit. When you select an in-transit transfer, you'll complete the order process in the Warehouse transfers window. Learn how to complete an in-transit warehouse transfer.
Item ID	Name of the item requested.
Serial, Lot, Bin	This link appears only if the item type is tracked. Select the link to open the details area and enter the quantity to transfer. In the Serial, Lot, Bin section, select the tracking information from the dropdown lists and enter the quantity to transfer.
From warehouse	This field defaults to the warehouse that's associated with the selected item or a warehouse that you've defined in your user preferences in the general preferences section. Use the Warehouse selection list to select the applicable warehouse as needed.
Quantity	Indicates the quantity of the corresponding item currently on the shelves in the From warehouse.
On hand	The item total for quantity on hand. Item totals are combined for all warehouses and automatically displayed based on transaction entries. In addition, you can view totals per warehouse.
On order	The item total for the quantity on order. Item totals are combined for all warehouses and automatically displayed based on transaction entries. In addition, you can view totals per warehouse.
In transit quantity	The item total in warehouse transfers that are in transit. Item totals are combined for all warehouses and automatically displayed based on transaction entries. In addition, you can view totals per warehouse.
Quantity needed	The quantity needed at the destination warehouse to fulfill the quantity requested (the destination warehouse may already have some of the requested quantity available).
To warehouse	The destination warehouse the item is being transferred to.
Quantity to transfer	If the item does not require tracking information, enter the number of items you want to transfer from the From warehouse.
