Create a work order

Use the Work Order Management application to create service-related work orders for your small-scale, shorter-duration jobs.

You can create work orders at the top level or for a specific entity. You can track work order transactions in the applications where the work order dimension is enabled.

To use Work Order Management, your system administrator must subscribe to and configure the application. If you subscribe to Construction, the Work Order Management subscription is available by default. To enable Work Order Management without a Construction subscription, contact your Sage Intacct account manager.
  1. Go to Work Order ManagementAllWork orders.

    Administrators can rename certain terms, such as work order. If terminology has been customized, you'll notice that the labels used in the product might differ from the terms used in the Help.
  2. Select Add.

  3. If the Work order ID field is available, enter a unique work order number.

    If this field displays New instead of an entry field, a work order ID is assigned automatically after you save the new work order.

  4. Enter a Work order name.

  5. If the Entity field is available, select the entity associated with the work order.

    For single-entity companies, this field defaults to the current entity and cannot be changed.

  6. Complete the remaining fields with the information that you have available.

  7. Select Save.
