Set a check void date
Choose the date to void the check in the Void payment date pop-up window. Here, you can reverse related bills or expense reports at the same time that you void the check.
-
Void checks within an open summary.
To void a check that's part of a closed summary, re-open the summary and void the check. Then, close the summary.
-
Void the check on or after the date on the check.
If you try to void a printed check with a date that precedes the actual check date, you receive an error.
Make sure to enter the correct void date for the check as it cannot be changed.

Check register: Run |
-
Go to Accounts Payable > All > Reports > Registers > Check.
- Use the report filter options to narrow the report results based on the checking account, date range, or other options, then select View.
- Select Void next to the payment.
- Review the information on the Void payment date page.
- By default, the void date is set to the current date, but you can set a different check void date.
- If you want to reverse the associated bill, select Reverse.
If you reverse the bill it will not be available for you to repay it. You need to create a new bill.
- Select Submit.
You return to the Check register. You see two line items for the transaction. One line item is the original transaction. The other is the reverse of that transaction, which produces a net effect of zero for that transaction.
If you selected one or more bills to reverse, a negative bill is also created, resulting in a net of zero for those transactions as well. On the Bills list, the bill appears with the state "Reversed." The bill is not available for you to repay it. You need to create a new bill.
If you reverse an expense report, the expense report appears in Staff Expenses or My Expenses list with the state "Reversed."
