Problem
The Growing Great Landscaping company had an Interactive Custom Report Writer report with values in the Amount column that were double (2x) the expected value. This is a standard report does not use custom SQL.
The value of 5,951.34, in the Amount column of the following report example, is 2x what was expected (2,975.67).
Finding the root cause
The first step is to determine if there's a column that's not currently selected in the report could be causing the doubled value. Start by adding attribute columns until you find one that forces a second line to appear.
The following example shows that there were two Amount entries, one in the Cash book, one in the Accrual book. ICRW accurately reflected the data in Intacct.
Solution
There are two Amount entries in the report, one in the Cash book and one in the Accrual book. The company can apply either of the following solutions:
- Remove the incorrect GL entry from the report.
- Filter the report for the appropriate value of "General ledger detail Attributes"."BOOKID".
