General Ledger sync

Nonprofit organizations have unique needs for recording transactions. The General Ledger account and journal entry sync takes information from different sources in Intacct and syncs this information from Intacct to Salesforce as managed lists.

Enable General Ledger sync

The General Ledger is the central ledger for your Intacct company, where you create and maintain accounts and journals.

To enable General Ledger synch:

  1. Log in to Intacct as an administrator.
  2. Go to Company > Admin > Subscriptions > Advanced CRM Integration and select Configure.

  3. On the Settings tab, in the General Ledger Integration section, select the Enable General Ledger synchronization checkbox.
    When checked, selected General Ledger accounts and journal entries are synced to Salesforce.
  4. Select General Ledger Accounts, Journals, and Journal Entries to sync and Save your changes.

Sync General Ledger Accounts

It's not necessary to sync all General Ledger accounts to Salesforce. Intacct recommends syncing only those accounts that are intended for use on journal entry lines in Salesforce. General Ledger Accounts are a managed list that's only synced from Intacct to Salesforce.

To choose accounts to sync:

  1. Select the Select accounts to sync with Salesforce link.
    The Select accounts to sync dialogue opens.
  2. Add accounts by selecting them individually, or adding a range of accounts, or both.

    1. To add accounts individually, tap Select.
      A list of available accounts is displayed.
    2. Use the right arrow to move selected accounts from the Available items list to the Selected items list.
    3. Use Done when you finish selecting accounts.
      A list of your selected accounts is displayed.

    Use Add or edit to change the selected Accounts as needed.

    1. To add a range of accounts, use the From account dropdown menu to select a starting account.
    2. Select an ending account from the To account dropdown menu and select Add.
      A list of the selected accounts is displayed.
    3. Adjust the list as necessary.
      • Use the X to remove individual accounts.
      • Use Add or edit to add and remove accounts.
      • Use Remove all accounts if you want to start over.
    4. Use Done when you finish selecting accounts.
      A list of your selected accounts is displayed.

     

  3. Select Synchronize to sync the General Ledger Accounts to Salesforce and select Close.

After configuration, any changes made to the selected Accounts in Intacct are synchronized with Salesforce. Accounts are stored on the Intacct Account object in Salesforce, which is a managed list.

Changes made in Salesforce to the Intacct Account object do not sync back to Intacct.

  4. Use Done when you finish selecting statistical journals.
    A list of your selected statistical journals is displayed.
  5. Use Synchronize to sync the General Ledger statistical accounts to Salesforce and select Close.

After configuration, any changes made to the selected Accounts in Intacct are synchronized with Salesforce. Accounts are stored on the Intacct Account object in Salesforce, which is a managed list.

Changes made in Salesforce to the Intacct Account object do not sync back to Intacct.

Sync General Ledger Journals

Journals are containers where Journal Entries are posted. Journals are managed lists that are only synced from Intacct to Salesforce.

It's not necessary to sync all journals to Salesforce. Intacct recommends you sync only journals that will are to post Journal Entries to Salesforce. Limiting the journals you sync can also help to protect against posting to unintended journals.

To select journals to sync:

  1. Use the Select journals to sync with Salesforce link.
    The Select Journals to Sync dialogue opens.
  2. Use Select to add journals.
    A list of available journals is listed.
  3. Use the right arrow to move selected journals from the Available items list to the Selected items list.
  4. Select Done when you finish selecting journals.
    A list of your selected journals is displayed.
  5. Use Synchronize to sync the General Ledger Journals to Salesforce and select Close.

After configuration, any changes made to the selected journals in Intacct are synchronized with Salesforce. Journals are stored on the Intacct Journal object in Salesforce, which is a managed list.

Changes made in Salesforce to the Intacct Journal object do not sync back to Intacct.
