Set up the compliance checklist—Contracts
This list supports the enhanced lists interface. Learn more about using enhanced lists.
Periodic reviews can help ensure that contract obligations are delivered as intended. You can create a checklist of tasks tailored to your company's contract review process, and this list will appear in every contract. When a task is completed, users can enter the completion details in the contract, providing an audit trail.

About the contract compliance checklist
Each Intacct instance can have one compliance checklist for contracts. An admin usually creates the checklist tasks and determines the order that they appear in the list. The tasks will appear in the Compliance tab of every contract, as in the following example:
When a task is completed, a user with the appropriate permissions can sign off on a checklist task. The user can also indicate that a task was completed by another employee, not necessarily another Intacct user. The user can add notes and an attachment to the contract that support the compliance tasks. Users can also create custom reports containing the checklist data to assist with compliance tracking.
Add a task to the checklist
When you add a task to the contract compliance checklist and set the status to Active, the task is immediately available in every contract.
-
Go to Contracts > Setup > More and select Add (circle) next to Contract compliance tasks.
-
In the Name field, enter the task name.
For example, "Review". This field is limited to 20 characters.
-
In the Description field, enter a meaningful description of the task.
For example, "Manager reviewed contract".
-
If you want the task to appear in a certain position within the checklist, enter the desired numerical position in the Ordinal number field.
For example, if you want the task to appear as the third task in the checklist, type 3 in this field.
- Use the Status dropdown list to indicate whether the checklist task is active or inactive.
-
Select Save.
Edit a checklist task
If you make changes to the contract compliance checklist, the changes affect the checklist in every contract.
-
Go to Contracts > Setup > More > Contract compliance tasks.
- Find the task that you want to edit.
-
Select More actions > Edit at the end of the row.
-
Make your changes.
-

-
Go to Contracts > Setup > More > Contract compliance tasks.
- Select Edit next to the desired task.
- Make any changes and then select Save.
Delete a task from the checklist
You can delete a task from the checklist if it has not been signed off in any contract. This removes the task from Intacct. Alternatively, you can deactivate a task (change the status to Inactive), which prevents it from displaying in any contracts but retains the task for historical purposes.
-
Go to Contracts > Setup > More > Contract compliance tasks.
- Find the task that you want to delete.
-
Select More actions > Delete at the end of the row.
-
Select Delete to confirm.
Depending on your user preferences, the system might prompt you to confirm the deletion.
-
Go to Contracts > Setup > More > Contract compliance tasks.
-
Select Delete next to the task you want to delete.
Depending on your user preferences, the system might prompt you to confirm the deletion.
View a task in the checklist
-
Go to Contracts > Setup > More > Contract compliance tasks.
-
Find the task that you want to view.
Need help finding a task?-
Records designated as Inactive do not appear in the list by default. To view these records, select Filters at the top of the list and select Remove next to the Status filter to remove it.
-
- Select the task's name.
-
Go to Contracts > Setup > More > Contract compliance tasks.
-
Find the task that you want to view.
Don't see Include inactive on your page? The most common reason that you do not see this feature is that you're using a custom view.
When you select a custom view, some options are hidden. Depending on the page you're on, the Include inactive, Include one-time use, Include private, and Display hierarchy options are not visible. For example, if you're viewing from a custom view, the Financial Reports list will not provide the Include inactive option.
To see the options again, switch back to View All. See Custom views for more information.
- Select View next to the task.
