Edit or view an account

Accounts (General Ledger accounts) are where you post balance sheet, income statement, and statistical transactions. The list of all of a company's general ledger accounts is called its Chart of accounts.

Edit an account

To edit account information, start on the Accounts list. You can also manually associate certain entities with this account to give you further control and visibility into entity commercial activity.

This list supports the enhanced lists interface. Learn more about using enhanced lists.

  1. Go to General Ledger > All > Accounts.

  2. Find the account.
  3. Select More actionsEdit at the end of the row.

  4. Enter changes as needed.
  5. For multi-entity companies, you can set up account titles for each entity. To do this:
    1. Below the Title box, select Set up account titles. The Account Title by Entity page opens.
    2. For each entity ID that you select, enter in a corresponding account title.
    3. Select Save.
  6. When you're finished, select Save.

  6. When you're finished, select Save.
To save this account and add another account, select More actions and then select Save & new.

View and print account information

You can view a list of accounts from the Accounts list, or you can view and print the details of a particular account from the General Ledger account page.

If you're working in a multi-entity company at the top level, you initially see only the items that were created at the top level. To see items created in the entities, select the Include private checkbox. Also, when you edit an item that was created in an entity, your changes apply to that entity. After you save your changes, you're returned to the top level.
  1. Go to General Ledger > All > Accounts > General Ledger accounts.
  2. Find the account that you want to view or print.
  3. Select the account title to view the account information.
  4. To print information for the account, select Print to... and then select either PDF or XML.
