About creating external user records
An external user is a user who accesses your company by sliding in through a console rather than logging into your company directly. When a console user slides into an instance, the console user is identified as an external user.
However, you cannot create an external user's record because Sage Intacct creates external user records automatically. All external user records are set to Inactive in each instance. Any of the following enables Intacct to create external user records in a company:
-
A console administrator creates an instance so that the instance links to the console.
-
A console administrator creates an external authorization record.
-
A console administrator creates and deploys a portal in Platform Services.
When a console user slides in to an instance for the first time, their external user record is automatically created in that specific company. If you want an external user's record created in another company, have the console user slide in to that instance.
The following allows Intacct to create external user records in a company:
-
A console user slides into an instance.
-
A console administrator assigns an instance to a console user.
-
A console administrator assigns a service authorization to a console user.
