Administrators in Sage Intacct
Administrators in Sage Intacct are responsible for managing users, subscriptions, and other company information.
About administrative users
A user with administrator privileges is given the highest possible level of system access, including the ability to:
- Configure and subscribe to applications
- Create users
- Assign permissions to users
There are two types of administrators in Sage Intacct: full and limited.
A full administrator has complete administration privileges, including the ability to create other full administrators. Full admins can also access to all features in Platform Services, which let admins create and change pages in Intacct. Additionally, if your company uses role permissions, only full administrators can use the Try role feature. They’re automatically granted permissions for appropriate tasks, such as creating users, subscribing to applications, and payment information.
Limited administrators have all administration privileges, except for the ability to create a full administrator, edit page layouts, and use the Try role feature. However, they may not automatically have permissions to tasks such as creating users or subscribing to applications.
Both administrative types have access to private financial reports so they can manage access to the reports.

Best practices for admin users
Admins play a key role in Intacct. They manage users and apps, and handle special tasks like password resets and account unlocks. We've put together some helpful recommendations for Intacct admins.
- Have at least two full administrators. Full administrators are the only users capable of creating other admin users.
- Ensure your Intacct users know who your admins are.
- Have a process in place if one or more admin users are out of the office.
- Have a process in place if one or more admin users leave your company.
Cannot find my admin
If you're locked out of your company, only the Intacct admin user or designated support user can reset your password or unlock your user ID. If you cannot find your admin or do not know who your admin is, we recommend one of the following solutions:
- Ask internally to learn who your admin is
Admin users are the only people capable of resetting your password or unlocking your user ID. Asking internally to find your admin is a faster and easier process than contacting Sage Intacct Customer Support.
- If you are in the United States, you can ask your designated support user to contact Sage Intacct customer support.
