External user IDs
The following table explains the external user IDs in a company.
| User ID | Access Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| CNS_parentCompany ID_HIDDEN |
Consolidation |
The Consolidation type of external authorization provides an external user record for the parent consolidating company. Consolidation type external users are used only for Advanced Consolidations. The CNS_user does not have slide-in access to your company. It only allows the parent consolidating company to query its subsidiaries. The CNS_ user must have the appropriate permissions to your books, departments, and so on. |
| CPAUser | Practice |
Intacct automatically creates the following for the console company:
|
| ExtUser|consoleCompany ID|user ID |
Practice |
Each user who accesses your company externally has a unique external user record with potentially different permission sets. However, the same external user might have more than one external user ID, depending on how that user slides into a company. Example
There's a partner console called BigPartner which has the user Admin.
There is also a management console called SmallMgmt linked to BigPartner.
SmallMgmt has an instance called MediumInstance. Depending on where Admin slides in from, their user ID will differ.
Service type external user IDs follow the same naming convention as in this example, with ExtUser being replaced by SvcUser. |
| intacct | Support |
Intacct automatically creates an intacct user and a Support type external authorization (Company name = Customer support) in every company. Intacct sets the Expiration date for the external authorization to an expired date. If you need help from Intacct customer support, set the Expiration date on the Customer support external authorization to a future date. Setting the expiration date to a future date enables customer support to access your company. Learn how to change the status for the intacct external user. |
| Services | Service |
If you create a Service type external authorization, Intacct automatically creates the Services external user. |
| SvcUser|serviceProvider CompanyID|user ID |
Service |
Each external user who accesses your company externally has a unique external username that can have different permission sets. However, Intacct treats SvcUser permissions differently from the permissions of an ExtUser. You can assign permissions to the SvcUser using Subscriptions from the External Users list or from the Roles tab on the External User Information page. How you assign permissions depends on whether your company uses role-based or user-based permissions. |
| System | System |
Intacct automatically creates a System user in every company to offer more information in offline processes. |
